These are a couple of portraits I took many years ago but still mean a lot to me today. The first was taken after Julius had gotten into a fight late one night and I was attempting to sober him up with teas and talking. The second was taken a few weeks later when I asked to borrow Julius’ clippers so I could help Laurie with her new haircut. Julius sits shirtless since the one he was wearing was ripped to shreds during the fight, and Laurie dons her grandmother’s old dress which she used a ribbon to tie up the back so it would fit better. I think both of these portraits are gentle and true to each of their characters, which is why I’m still proud of them.

Both taken October 2018, Will Wyatt Court. Nikon D3500, 50mm 1.4 lens
